HEALING THROUGH PRAYER
1. IF WE DOUBT GOD IN OUR SITUATION, WE WILL RECEIVE NOTHING FROM HIM.
James 1:5-8
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. (NKJ)
2. OUR TONGUE MUST BE A TOOL OF BLESSING IF WE WANT OUR PRAYERS ANSWERED.
James 3:4-6
4 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires.
5. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. (NKJ)
James 3:10-11
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? (KJV)
3. GOD MUST BE THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN YOUR LIFE. HE WILL NOT TAKE SECOND PLACE.
Matt 6:24
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (KJV)
Matt 22:37-39
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (KJV)
4. WE MUST FORGIVE.
Mark 11:25-26
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.(KJV)
5. WE MUST LIVE HOLY LIVES.
Isa 65:24
24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.(KJV)
Isa 59:2
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.(KJV)
Deut 11:26-28
26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:
28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.(KJV)
Deut 28:9
9 The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways. (KJV)
6. WE HAVE BEEN CHOSEN BY GOD
Jer 31:3
3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
(KJV)John 14:14& 15
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
7. WE MUST PRAY ACCORDING TO HIS WILL.
I Jn 5:14-15
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. (KJV)
2 Pet 3:9
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (KJV)
8. OUR FAITH IS IN OUR GOD, NOT IN OUR OWN ABILITY TO BELIEVE THAT WHAT WE PRAY FOR WILL HAPPEN, BUT IN OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN WHO LOVES US AND WANTS TO DO WHAT IS BEST FOR US. HE HAS THE POWER TO ANSWER OUR PRAYER. THIS IS FAITH.
Matt 17:19-20
19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. (KJV)
Mark 11:22-24
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. (KJV)
9. OUR HEAVENLY FATHER WANTS US TO ASK OR HE WOULD NOT HAVE PUT THIS IN HIS WORD.
Luke 11:9-10
9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (KJV)
