SIGNS OF THE TIMES
Jerusalem is the key to many "End Time" events. If we study God's Word and look into His prophecies from all the books of the Bible, we will find that looking at Jerusalem in our present day, will give us an indication of where we are in light of Bible Prophecy. The most amazing fact is that the Jewish people have not lost their identity despite being dispersed to all corners of the world. This is the most pressing evidence of the truth of the Word of God.
Amos 9:14-15
14. I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; they shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them.
15. I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them," says the LORD your God.

Luke 21:24b-26
Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
25 "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring;
26 "men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken.

This
prophecy was partially fulfilled in the "Six Day War". In 1967 after
almost two thousand years of exile, Jerusalem was again in the hands of the
Jewish Government. From 63BC* to 1967AD Jerusalem was in the hands of the
Gentiles. Have the "times of the Gentiles" been fulfilled?
Let us look at Prophecy. The book of Daniel shows the following:
Dan 12:4
4 "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."

What other time in history have men run to and fro as they do in our day? When in History has knowledge increased at such a rapid rate? Little more than one hundred years ago, life was not much different than in King David's time. Men were riding on horseback and earning a living by the sweat of their brow. Then everything changed. Electricity, Automobiles, Airplanes, Computers, Labor Saving Devices, all combined to make this a very different world. In the last fifty years man has stepped on the moon and ventured into outer space. In the area of Science, we have gone from bleeding people to remove infection, to transplanting organs and cloning. Truly knowledge has increased dramatically and people are running to and fro.
Daniel 12: 9&10
9"Go your way, Daniel, for
the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
10 "Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.
Many prophecies did not make sense until recent times. Since Israel became a nation in 1948, all of the other prophecies are becoming more clear.
Zech 12:2-3
2 "Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem.
3 "And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.(NKJ)
Luke 21:24-28
25 "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring;
Are we seeing weather changes? The Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Volcanic eruptions, Floods, Comets streaking across the night skies and Earthquakes everywhere, could this be the fulfillment of prophecy. It seems that no one prophecy alone would make this likely but all of these increases together seem more than chance.
2 Pet 3:8
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

People say that things are just as they have always been and the Lord has not come yet. This scripture shows the Lord's patience. He is in no hurry but He does have a plan. When the time is exactly right, He will return and every Prophecy in His Word will be fulfilled just as He has stated.
HOW
DO WE KNOW THAT WE ARE CLOSE TO THIS TIME?
1Thes 5:1-5
1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you.
2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
3 For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.
4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.
5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.

14 "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come."

1 Come, and let us return to the LORD; for He has torn, but He will heal us; he has stricken, but He will bind us up.
2 After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us
up, that we may live in His sight.

CAN THIS BE THE THIRD DAY ON WHICH HE WILL RAISE US UP?
Titus 2:11-13
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

Luke 21:29-32
29 Then He spoke to them a parable: "Look at the fig tree, and all the trees.
30 "When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near.
31 "So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.
32 "Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place.(NKJ)
What generation is Luke talking about? The fig tree in scripture refers to Israel. "This Generation" refers to the generation that sees Jerusalem under the control of the Government of Israel. This took place in 1967. We are the Generation that will see all of the "End Time" Prophecies of the Bible fulfilled and the coming of the Lord.
